FREELANCE JOURNALIST

since February 2020

The great freedom: I started my own business as a writer and journalist in early 2020. Since then, I've been able to build a solid client base and contribute my experience to a wide variety of projects. Blog articles, website copy, social media and Instagram posts are as much a part of my portfolio as publications in print and online journalism. I would like to thank all my clients for the trust they have placed in me and for the varied and exciting assignments.

PUBLIC RELATIONS IN GERMAN PARLIAMENT

April 2018 to July 2019

A valuable experience: For just over a year, I was able to work as a communications and public relations officer in the German Bundestag. It was an exciting time that enriched me personally and gave me exclusive insights behind the political scenes in the German capital. In my position, I was responsible for maintaining contact with journalists and the media, and I had a number of interesting tasks to perform. These included drafting parliamentary questions, press releases and speech manuscripts, as well as managing press events and social media channels.

EDITOR PRINT & ONLINE JOURNALISM

April 2015 until March 2018

Three instructive years: After graduating, I left my hometown of Aachen for Leipzig. There I accepted an offer to work as an editor for a political monthly magazine. During this time, I learned how to write, research and edit, conducted interviews, wrote reports and got into personal conversations with interested readers at events like the Leipzig Book Fair. To this day, I am grateful for the many new experiences, the ever-changing professional challenges and impressions.

BACHELOR OF ARTS HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY

2011 to 2015

Academic History: At the Rheinisch-Westfälische-Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen, I had the pleasure of studying philosophy and history since 2011. Already at that time I wanted to become a journalist. The subjects I chose should help me on my way - and they did. Independent research and argumentation, trenchant writing and discussion - these were the skills I took with me from university. I owe my degree with an overall grade of 1.6 and many good memories not least to my professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Wulf Kellerwessel.
